The band: Tribal High are a three-piece band from Glasgow who started out early 2013, and have already played gigs alongside bands like Dead Sons, Tijuana Bibles and The Merrylees. They have recently released a new EP titled Charlie White.
The sound: The title track from that EP (listen below) fuses hip-hop and rock, with the lyrically dense verses breaking away for a melodic chorus. The repetitive bridge kicks in near the end to bring the song to a climactic build up, with a foot-stomping rhythm behind it. It has hints of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to it, but stands alone in its uniqueness.
The lowdown: They will be playing at the fifth annual Summer Nights festival at King Tuts, Glasgow, on the 27th July. They will also be taking part in the Tenement Trail, on the 4th October.
