JUST when you think you know what to expect from a forthcoming Wolf Alice release, the band are all too happy to deftly transcend any preconceived boundaries and head into new terrain.

The latest track to be taken from the hotly anticipated Visions Of A Life, the Ellie Rowsell-fronted group have delivered the stellar ‘Beautifully Unconventional.’

Falling back upon their indie rock roots to a greater extent than the previously unveiled ‘Yuk Foo’ and ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses’, their newest offering is structured around a frenetic, up-tempo riff and serves as an ode to individuality and finding happiness within yourself.

Opting for a classic 50s makeover, the new Hollywood-style video revealed today is remarkably different from the dark, grungy affair that accompanied ‘Yuk Foo’. “This song is a celebration of all your non-conforming friends,” Ellie Rowsell told The FADER. “A celebration of individuality and the adventures that come with embracing that.

“For me personally I imagined me and my mate Hannah as Christian Slater and Winona Rider in Heathers albeit looking nothing like them. The video has nothing to do with the song – I just didn’t want to have a mullet anymore, seeing as lots of people tore me to pieces in our last video, so it was an excuse to wear a wig!”

Visions Of A Life is set for release on the 29th September whilst the band are currently in the midst of a brief summer tour which will take them to Dundee’s Fat Sam’s this Friday and Aberdeen on the following night.
