YAK have returned with an absurd new video for their new track ‘Harbour the Feeling’, which sees game show contestants riding a rodeo bull – which is meant to be a real-life yak – with manic flickering lights shining the band’s logo.
‘Harbour the Feeling’ is as vivacious as the video, with a highly compressed distortion tone that is buried under the frantic percussion. This spirited energy that Yak convey will be predictably ecstatic in their live show, and is a further push forward for the dying art of rock music.
Yak will release their long-awaited debut album Alas Salvation – which frontman Oli Burslem describes as “slightly schizophrenic” but inevitably enjoyable – on 13th May 2016 via Octopus Electrical.
The band have already shared the video for the opening track on the album ‘Victorious (National Anthem)’. They will tour with The Last Shadow Puppets for their first few UK dates in April, along with a UK tour in May that sees the band hit Glasgow’ Stereo on album release day and London’s Dingwalls on 24th May.
