A BRAND new series of songwriting workshops are being launched in Paisley & Renfrewshire for young women aged between 16 and 25.

The project, which will take place in Paisley Arts Centre and begin on Wednesday 25th September, aims to “give young women in Renfrewshire an opportunity to express their artistic identity, share ideas, develop songwriting skills and to be empowered in a supportive environment that nurtures talent and offers a safe space for creativity to flourish”.

Not only will the incredible initiative have a wider aim of tackling the gender gap in the music industry, it also hopes to create a “sustainable collective of women who support each other through music”.

The brainchild of Linzi Clark, otherwise known as one half of Paisley duo DRIFT, She Sings will take place on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm-8.30pm. With eight places on offer, applications are now open for young female songwriters who are looking to develop their craft. The deadline to apply is 18th September.
