The band: Glasgow duo Honeyblood started playing their blend of simple grungy pop in 2012, and have already achieved soaring success. They are just back from playing the famous SXSW  festival in Texas, and have been attracting attention from the likes of The Guardian to Pitchfork, and everyone in between.

The sound: Their new single ‘Killer Bangs’ (listen below) is as earthy and primal as always, combining rough sounding guitars and drums with some sweet melodic vocals. It features a nice breakdown in the middle that quickly gives way to a double-time outro that see’s the duo let loose a bit. The track will feature on their up-coming self-titled debut album.

The lowdown: The album is due out on the 14th July on FatCat Records. In the meantime they are supporting Courtney Barnett on her UK wide tour in May, ending in London on the 29th.
