The band: Fatherson have been gradually building up a fan base and reputation for a few years, and are now on the brink of releasing their debut album ‘I Am An Island. The Glasgow based four-piece have played festivals such as T in the Park, The Great Escape and the main stage at Rockness, as well as getting airtime on BBC 2 and BBC Radio 1.

The sound: Their new single I Like Not Knowing encapsulates their sound, which mixes a pop-folk style similar to Admiral Fallow, with a pacier indie-rock sound. Its beauty is in its simplicity and easy-listening melody.

The lowdown: The album is out on the 7th April, and after that the band are off on a UK tour that starts in Manchester on the 13th April and ends at the Arches in Glasgow on the 26th April.
