PJ-Harvey-Recording-1-in-Progress-2015.-An-Artangel-commission.-Photograph-by-Seamus-Murphy-2bwRENOWNED as one of the most creative individuals operating within in the modern music sphere, it should come as no surprise that PJ Harvey has barely paused for breath before releasing one of the outtakes from her recent album.

With The Hope Six Demolition Project operating as a loose concept album which considered  the many ills of society and the relentless hardship which many endure under the weight of tyrannical governments or deeply ingrained prejudices, the two time Mercury Prize winner has now unveiled the angered ‘Guilty.’

Opening with a demonic rhythm and spoken word mantra of ‘rules and regulation’, it almost seems as though Harvey has been inspired by fellow subversives Young Fathers in the track’s early stages. Bursting into life with vibrant horn parts and that instantly recognisable voice which never fails to leave her throngs of admirers absolutely floored, it begs the question of how many more great tracks from the Hope Six sessions have been left on the cutting room floor.

Having announced a new UK tour mere days ago, PJ Harvey will descend upon Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on the 2nd November.
