King-Creosote-640x654ONE of the most prolific Scottish songwriters of the past 20 years or so, King Creosote’s career has been one of consistent reinvention and dabblings with as many disparate sound as he can think of.

Plying his trade in folk based music since 1995, the musician less commonly known as Kenny Anderson has released so many incredible albums that it’s easy to lose count, with 2014’s From Scotland With Love being cited as a recent highlight.

With the upcoming Astronaut Meets Appleman expected in September, Creosote has released the atmospheric ‘You Just Want.’

A seven minute journey which manages to contain both a great deal of warmth and an underlying menace, ‘You Just Want’ is atypical of Anderson at the peak of his powers, incorporating such classical instrumentation as violins and a splendorous harp section alongside his deeply emotive vocals. A thoroughly enriching trip into the depths of his mind’s inner recesses, it’s a track which was made to get lost in and absolutely demands repeat listens if you’re to truly grasp the sheer scale of its ambitious sound.

Astronaut Meets Appleman will be released on the 2nd September via Domino Records.
