FOLLOWING a standout performance at last weekend’s Great Escape, Philadelphia outfit The Districts have revealed a new single by the name of ‘If Before I Wake’.
Building on the anthemic qualities of 2015’s A Flourish and a Spoil, the thunderous track is yet another indication that the band have gone down a more textured and distinctly intense route on upcoming record Popular Manipulations. Frontman Rob Grote is searing in his delivery over blown-out drums, churning guitars and swirling synthesisers ; all the while betraying an emotional vulnerability through the highly charged chorus and lyrical content.
Adding the expansive textures of shoegaze to their already striking sound, ‘If Before I Wake’ is another tantalising insight into the new album which arrives on 11th August via Fat Possum.
