IT is not often that you come across a voice so deeply authentic that it immediately stops you in your tracks; a voice so beautifully soulful that it transports you to another era with the slightest affectation.

Hailing from Paisley, young singer-songwriter Kitty is ready to make her mark on the local music scene with the release of her debut single ‘Old Ones’; a dazzling track which has now been accompanied by the brand new video premiered below.

Channelling the contemporary jazzy stylings of Amy Winehouse while paying heed to the soulful giants of the sixties, ‘Old Ones’ is a stunning introduction to a singer who promises a hugely exciting future ahead. Deeply affecting and stirring in her delivery, the singer’s effortless vocal performance is enhanced by some beautifully crafted instrumentation – bluesy melodies and rich flourishes of brass coming together to create a debut track that oozes authenticity and raw talent.

In keeping with the retro vibes of the song, the black and white video recalls a classic Hollywood movie with its smoky lounge bar setting and narrative. Strutting around the room in candlelight, Kitty holds a captivating presence as she pines over her unrequited love; the video proving every bit as engaging as her heartfelt lyricism.

An entirely unique prospect in Glasgow’s current music scene, Kitty’s debut single ‘Old Ones’ will officially be released on 2nd June. The single’s launch party will be hosted in The Old Hairdresser’s on 8th June where she will be joined by her full band ‘The Phat Kats’ for their very first live performance.
