ARCTIC Monkeys performed Lou Reed’s Walk on the Wild Side last night during their headline show in Liverpool.

In a fitting tribute to the rock ‘n’ roll legend who helped shape over 50 years of music, Arctic Monkeys performed the track in their encore with Alex Turner on lead vocals.

Since the iconic star passed on Sunday (27 October) iTunes sales of the track have spiked, the singer songwriter died aged 71. Tributes have fled in from artists including Iggy Pop and David Bowie.

Arctic Monkeys will play Glasgow’s SSE Hydro arena on Friday (1 November) and will be supported by The Strypes.
