13466029_796761247125191_837053425587407933_nTWO of the leading lights of Glasgow’s thriving poetry and spoken word scenes, T Break artist Declan Welsh and Liam McCormick have announced ‘Say Your Prayers’, a new poetry night which focuses on the subversive and political side of the spectrum.

Hosted in Sauchiehall Street’s  The Priory Bar, this new event will enable many of the scene’s most outspoken voices to congregate and perform their newest work to a receptive and rowdy audience.

Excellently described as a ‘punk poetry rammy’, the first line-up is set to feature Glaswegian MC Loki  alongside a wide array of poets such as Michelle Fisher, Erin Friel, Sam Small, Cat Hepburn and Kevin Gilday.

Declan Welsh has said of the upcoming event:

“Glasgow has an amazing poetry scene, but it isn’t being brought in front of anew audience. Say Your Prayers is about confrontational, funny, exciting performers being in a packed room and doing their thing. Imagine John Cooper Clarke in the 80s. A basement room, the smell of pints and fags, and a room full of normal folk discovering poetry for the first time. That’s say your prayers.”

Say Your Prayers is set to take place tomorrow (30th June) from 9pm till late.
