FLEET FOXES have taken to social media to confirm that new material is on the way in 2017 along with a subsequent live date.

The band  posted a mysterious historical photograph of Hiroshi Hamaya on Facebook, the ‘Eruption at Mount Tokachi, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, 1962 to be exact, and when asked in the comments section about the new album, they replied that they were ‘Allllmost done’.

Shortly afterwards, the exciting news kept coming as frontman Robin Peckold seemed to confirm to a fan on Instagram  that the band would be appearing at Bilbao BBK festival next year, their first confirmed live date in five years.

The return of the alt-folk heroes will be a highly anticipated one having racked up two critically acclaimed albums to their name, their self-titled debut and 2011’s Helplessness Blues. Since confirming that they were reuniting for a third album earlier this year, Peckold has been keeping fans in the know with snippets of information and hints across social media, describing the new material as ‘crazy’ and ‘vast’ and ‘a different vibe’ from ‘200-2011 FF’.
