GLASGOW’S Franz Ferdinand have been confirmed as the Saturday night headliners for next year’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.

It will mark the band’s first appearance at the festival, held in Beauly in the Highlands. The announcement follows a quiet period for the outfit, who have been working on their first full-length release since 2013’s Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action. They will be joined by fellow Scot KT Tunstall who will be supporting them on the main stage.

Discussing the booking, promoter Joe Gibbs said: “This is the first time Franz Ferdinand has played Bella and we are totally delighted to welcome them to our stage. I couldn’t think of a better act to close out the festival. And we are thrilled to be welcoming KT back. She played Bella before as an unannounced special guest but we are pleased to have properly on the bill this time.”

Last year’s Belladrum sold out in record time so festival-goers have been urged to snap up their tickets quickly. Next year’s event, taking place between 3rd and 5th of August, looks set to be another success with Franz Ferdinand, KT Tunstall, Sister Sledge and Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5 already confirmed to appear.
