BRITPOP legends Kula Shaker have announced details of a live in-store performance at Rough Trade East and a limited edition vinyl release of ‘Govinda’.
The band are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their seminal album ‘K’, which was released on 16th September 1996 in the midst of the explosive Britpop era, and which catapulted them onto huge mainstream success. The Rough Trade exclusive limited edition 12” vinyl will include a 7 minute live version of ‘Govinda’ along with B side ‘Smart Dogs’, both recorded earlier this year at sold out nights at Wilton Music Hall in London.
For those who have pre-ordered the vinyl, there will be a special in-store live set and signing at Rough Trade East on September 16th at 6.30pm, exactly twenty years from when ‘K’ was released. The 12″ will also be available to buy on the same day at Rough Trade Stores in the UK and USA prior to the band’s two shows in Brooklyn NYC Rough Trade later in the month.
