Leonard Cohen, Canadian singer and writer of EngliCANADIAN singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen has died aged 82.

Widely renowned as one of the most witty, poignant and astute lyricists ever to put pen to paper, the legendary poet and author turned musician has sadly passed away following the release of his cathartic final album You Want It Darker earlier this year.

Despite opting to not disclose an exact cause of death or date, Cohen’s son/collaborator Adam has released a statement which claimed that:

“My father passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles with the knowledge that he had completed what he felt was one of his greatest records. He was writing up until his last moments with his unique brand of humor.”

An artist that remained consistently inspiring throughout his entire career thanks to a wry wit and affable approach to societal taboos, Leonard Cohen has left behind a body of work that will echo through the ages and he will be sadly missed.
