GLASGOW’S LP Records have announced the formation of their own independent label.

Opened in the city’s west end in 2015, the owners of the store have now declared that they’ll be making the transition into a home for some of the nation’s most exciting new music.

Revealed via a statement on their Facebook page, LP have declared that the label’s first 3 signees will be revealed via separate premieres throughout the day and will cover “everything from folk to shoegaze.”

Speaking in reference to the thought process behind the move, they’ve stated that “we can’t wait to be a bigger part of bringing more amazing music to our great city and beyond. We’re very much of the belief that you should be vocal and passionate and borderline annoying in shouting about your favourite bands and going nuts for new music, and that’s exactly what we intend to do with the label.”

The first of the three bands to be announced over the course of the day is The Great Albatross, a Glasgow based artist by way of Long Beach, California who will release his debut full length Asleep In The Catskills via the newly minted label in May.
