new documentary focusing on the life and times of rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Elvis Presley has been announced.

Clocking in at three hours and split into two separate yet defined parts, the upcoming Thom Zimny (known for his previous work with Bruce Springsteen) documentary will chronicle the singer’s life from his formative years in Mississippi to his days as the world’s biggest recording artists and culminating with his final recording sessions at Graceland’s Jungle Room.

Made with the full cooperation of Elvis’ estate, those behind the film have been granted ‘unprecedented access to Graceland archives’ alongside a litany of other unreleased and long forgotten material.

Bolstered with interviews by many of those that worked with the iconic singer during his heyday, the documentary hasn’t yet been given a release date but is scheduled to air on HBO and will likely be shown on Sky Atlantic in the UK as per a distribution deal between the two.
