Spotify-on-Mobile-650x365POPULAR music streaming service Spotify is launching a new initiative which will enable brands to target customers by the music they are listening to.

Allowing access to customer segments, advertisers will be able to focus their efforts upon certain demographics; for example, when listening to a playlist entitled ‘workout’ you will receive ads which tie into physical fitness wares and products.

Experiencing a 380% year on year upturn in mobile advertising revenue, it is natural that the manner in which their ads are chosen would become more progressive and innovative.

Jeff Levick, chief revenue officer at the streaming service, has stated that: “Music is an integral part of life, day in and day out. Our new targeting solutions give brands unprecedented ways to reach streaming consumers.”
