20121105-thom-yorke-picture-x600-1352136975FOOTAGE has surfaced of Thom Yorke performing an unspecified new track during his recent appearance at Latitude.

Despite the show being the very first live endeavour since the release of Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, it has been made clear the unrelentingly creative Yorke seemed unwilling to ride its coattails and instead previewed this as yet unnamed track alongside compositions from the record and beyond.

A woozy, glitchy track that nods towards the often mind-melding production of artists such as Flying Lotus, Four Tet and Panda Bear, it pushes his dabbling with electronica in a perplexing new direction.

Diving into the murky textures that the track exhibits shouldn’t surprise anyone that has charted his somewhat nomadic career trajectory; the true mystery lies in what the track is intended for due to recent confirmation of a new Radiohead album and the original score of a Broadway play entitled ‘Old Times’ being in the works.

Whatever it may turn out to be, it’s certainly engaging.
