RECENTLY shortlisted for the SAY Award for her record ‘Twelve Wooden Boxes’, Becky Sikasa has shared a stunning new single called ‘Hard To Love’.

Building a reputation for her raw and heartfelt songwriting, Sikasa’s music is transcendent – weaving together lyrics and harmonies over delicate arrangements that oscillate between moody ballads and slinky neo-soul.

‘Hard To Love’ is a pared back ballad, which sees her soulful vocals accompanied by a moving piano melody. And it comes from a deeply personal place. Speaking of the track, she says: “A lot of qualities associated with adhd are often perceived as annoying, disruptive, careless. When for a lot of people the reality is exhaustion from the pressure, trying to function the way other people do, and from developing unhealthy masking or coping mechanisms, especially going undiagnosed.

Those experiences can leave a mark on your self esteem, leave you feeling anxious – which is a pretty lonely place.
Really, the song is for everyone who has days when they feel hard to love for whatever reason.
And hopefully the take away is that you’re not alone with that feeling.”
