HAVING teased the prospect of new material since the start of the year, Scottish indie pop veterans Belle and Sebastian have today fulfilled the wishes of fans all over the world with the release of their gloriously upbeat new track ‘We Were Beautiful’.

Recorded in their hometown of Glasgow and produced by the band alongside Brian McNeill, the synth-coated number marks the band’s first release since 2015’s Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance. Boasting a brilliantly climactic effect, Stuart Murdoch’s delivery floats over a euphoric combination of skittish beats, soaring synths and throbbing basslines. Deeply immersive and affective, it doesn’t take long for the opening groove to transform into something all the more anthemic.

Following a triumphant homecoming performance at TRNSMT Festival earlier this month, Belle and Sebastian are currently rounding off a tour of North America. Check out the track below.
