RENOWNED as one of the world’s leaders in gritty garage rock, Black Lips’ latest album Satan’s Graffiti Or God’s Art? more than attested to the fact that their vitality hasn’t weaned whatsoever.

Taken from said album and based upon a track that ranks among its myriad of highlights, the Georgia-based outfit have now released a startling new video for ‘Crystal Night.

Bearing latent similarities to the quaint output of The Shangri-Las and The Ronettes but reimagined in typically demented fashion, the track itself is an inventive piece of balladry that shows off their ability to strip back the dissonance when required.

Directed by Bryan Bankovich, the accompanying video retains the dystopian 1950’s feel of the music and charts a young, fresh-faced couple’s ill-fated trip to a winter dance which gradually begins to get a bit more sinister to say the least.

Black Lips will play Glasgow’s Mono on Saturday 18th November with tickets available now.
