bombay-bicycle-club---luna-video-1389096095-hero-promo-0The band: London outfit Bombay Bicycle Club first appeared on the scene after winning channel 4’s ‘road to V’competition. Since then they have released three albums which have all received high praise, and their fourth – ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’ – comes out early February. They have an indie/electro pop feel, except for their second studio album ‘flaws’ which was acoustic and very much in the style of John Martyn.

The sound: Luna is a light and happy go lucky song, with a catchy chorus. It has a dreamy feel to it, but at its core is pure indie, the simple melody that plays throughout and the even simpler bass line throbbing along confirm this.

The video: The video showcases a synchronised swimming display. The performance is stunning, and the song itself is extremely well crafted. Separately the two are brilliant, but putting them together is ever so slightly grating. However there is something to say for the shimmering water which does reflect the dream-like quality of the song.

The lowdown:  You’ll struggle to find a busier band at the moment. The new album is released on the 3rd February and straight after they’re off to tour Europe. Following that is a UK wide tour starting in Leeds on March 2nd, then it’s over the pond to the US and Canada for a tour starting on 11th April.
