The band: Formed in Manchester and initially breaking through in 2011, Patterns debut album has been a long time in coming. Now that it’s here though, the quartet look sure to make a big splash this year.
The Sound: A simple sound that mixes and electronic sound with indie pop, probably falling under the ‘shoegaze’ genre that originated in the 80’s. My Bloody Valentine is an obvious influence but the band have moved beyond comparisons and have come up with their own unique take, demonstrated nicely on the title track of their album, ‘Waking Lines’.
The Lowdown: With the release of their debut album ‘Waking Lines’ the year ahead promises tours and many shows. They’ll be playing with the highly touted Michael A Grammar in London on the 24th January which is sure to be an exciting night.
