CONTINUING to exhibit a more robust and thought provoking sound than ever before, Circa Waves have delighted fans with the airing of new single ‘Fire That Burns.’

Premiered last night on Radio 1 by Mistajam, this latest offering follows on from ‘Wake Up’, their first return to the fray since the release of their 2015 LP Young Chasers and an outing which displayed the band as a much more discontented force than the fresh faced boys that we’d encounter on their rose-tinted debut.

The previously released track has proved to be indicative of their newly calibrated direction and ‘Fire That Burns’ expands on this groundwork with aplomb. Brooding and contemplative, it hurtles forward at a steadily increase before erupting in a hail of emotive vocals and visceral guitar hooks.

The band have now unveiled a thrilling new video to accompany the track featuring Isaac Hempstead Wright, best known as Bran Stark in Game of Thrones. A morbid and unnerving affair, the clip sees frontman Kieran Shudall star as the lead role in a classic B-movie style horror before the actor himself loses touch with reality and embarks on his own murderous rampage. It’s like a bloodthirsty Inception.

Lead singer, Kieran Shudall has said: “When someone offered me the chance to be a serial killer in an Italian b-movie it was hard to resist…. I messaged Isaac from Game of Thrones on Twitter to see if he would be one of my victims and by some weird twist of fate it turned out he was a big fan of the band and agreed. It was great to do something away from your standard performance video and incorporate some early hammer house of horror into the song, it’s a monster

Circa Waves’ sophomore album Different Creatures is slated for release on the 10th March whilst the band are also set to embark on a tour of the UK which will see them descend upon Glasgow’s legendary Barrowlands.
