HAVING already made a big impression as the driving force behind Edinburgh dream-pop outfit Collar Up, Stephen McLaren has marked the beginning of his solo career with the release of this powerful debut track ‘We Used To Go Raving’.

Driven by propulsive rhythms and a stirring piano riff, the track evokes an abandoned rave scene through McLaren’s distant yet remarkably potent delivery; the addition of chorus harmonies adding to the haunted atmospherics of the song. More than a mere nostalgia trip though, it’s a vibrant composition that brings the old spirit alive; McLaren’s soaring vocals leading the track out in a final burst of euphoria.

Already a live favourite, ‘We Used To Go Raving’ is now ready to be heard by a wider audience and will be released as a free download on 9th February via Errant Media. Check it out below:
