FAUVES have shared a new single called ‘Beaming’.

Marking their first release of 2023, and their first since last year’s ‘Sweet Nothing’, the band team up with up and coming rapper Hannymoon on the hypnotic number.

Layered with melody and texture, the track has a dreamy, lysergic quality to it – Ryan Caldwell’s falsetto guides us through a technicolour world of spacey synths, wandering basslines, psych-infused beats, guitars and more as they channel feelings of confusion and ‘not knowing your self worth’. Dense with ideas, Hannymoon is a brilliant addition – his mild reggaeton inflections add an effortless cool to the track, while his uniquely inviting vocals are the perfect complement to Caldwell’s. More mellow and vibey than the punchy ‘Sweet Nothing’, it’s every bit as rewarding as the band showcase their wide range of influences once again.

The band’s Ciaran Devlin said: “Beaming is the feeling of smiling through the pain, not knowing your self-worth, and settling for less. Being trapped in a situation by your love for someone, whether that love is justified or not. Arrangement inspired by hip hop production greats like DJ Premier and Pi’erreBourne, as well as new favourites Tame Impala and Gorillaz. We first wrote this with our big mate Hannymoon back in 2020, and we’ve all been buzzing to release it ever since.”
