IT is safe to say that in the coming year, few albums have got us as excited as Goat Girl’s eagerly anticipated debut. Slated for release on 6th April via Rough Trade, the news of its arrival comes after a slew of formidable singles that have seen the ban hailed as one of London’s finest new groups.

Said to feature a grand total of nineteen tracks, the band have given us a preview of the self-titled LP by way of their latest single ‘The Man’. A punky earworm that bears all the fuzzy nonchalance of their previous cuts, the single is a  firestorm of menacing lead vocals, country-tinged guitars and hypnotic rhythms. Fuelled by a shrewd spirit and underlying ferocity, it’s a track that sneaks into your subconscious and has us awaiting their debut album with bated breath.

The accompanying video is a brilliant subversion of Beatlemania. Based on the classic Beatles film Hard Days Night, it sees the four-piece chased down the street by maniacal men. Watch it below.

Goat Girl’s self-titled debut album arrives on 6th April. They will also embark on a UK tour around the same time which will see them play Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s on 10th April.
