AFTER bringing out over 30 home recordings as a bedroom solo project, High Sunn are finally ready to unleash themselves onto the world with the release of their first ever studio recording – the Hopeless Romantic EP.

Recruiting a full live band to bring his scuzzy lo-fi creations to a more fully-fledged existence, 17 year old high school junior Justin Cheromiah channels teenage hope, angst and desire through his songwriting in a way that is authentically raw and blissfully self-aware. Set to take his music onto the next level, Hopeless Romantic will be the latest addition to his frightfully prolific output while dealing with familiar themes of “of love, rejection, and yearning, and having a heart and mind full of dreams and desires”.

Bursting with youthful vigour and dazzling guitar-work, ‘Tears’ is the second single to be revealed from the EP; and not only does it demonstrate a sharper and fuller sound, but it also manages to capture the same lo-fi charm and scuzzy appeal of Cheromiah’s earlier work. While reflecting on growing up and loss of innocence in its thoughtful lyricism, the ringing guitar lines and bright melodies are whipped up to create three minutes of infectious dreampop; enough to make you swoon.

Hopeless Romantic is slated for release on 19th May through PNKSLM Recordings. Check out ‘Tears’ below.
