THE BAND: One of the breakout acts to emerge from Glasgow’s ever expanding scene in the past few years, two piece Honeyblood have experienced success and tumultuous times in equal measures. After releasing their debut to a great deal of acclaim not to mention several high profile tours and support slots, the band’s initial line up was disbanded due to the departure of original drummer Shona Mcvicar; Leaving Stina Tweeddale to enlist the services of Cat Myers to form a second incarnation. Looking to carry on with the momentum that was established after their eponymous record, the band have released their latest single.

THE SOUND: A fairly minimalistic offering featuring distinctive guitar, groove oriented drums and a healthy dose of their unique aesthetic, ‘No Big Deal’ chronicles a turbulent and impassioned relationship as they struggle to hold it together. Adding a more abrasive and bitter edge to their sound, it features shades of renowned LA outfit Warpaint upon debut The Fool.

THE LOWDOWN: With the Glaswegian duo currently on tour with Belle and Sebastian throughout the US, fans will have to wait until May’s Live At Glasgow (Formerly Stag And Dagger) which is set to span a number of venues on 3rd May 2015.
