JUST last month, Jawn Ladder emerged from Glasgow’s underbelly with their formidable debut single ‘Scarything’ – a dark, primal number that took us back to rock & roll at its most raw and visceral. In fact, it made such an impression that it made our Top Tracks of 2021 – which we revealed just yesterday.

As the year draws to a close, the trio are back with another heavy offering. Spawned from a love of all good things rock & roll, ‘Prescription for Happiness’ is a track ‘for all who feel lost’ according to the band – their acute observations on mental health matched by the sheer urgency of the pounding drums and guitars. Bursting with live energy and led by John Gerard O’Neil’s recognisable rasp, it’s another triumph.

Jawn Ladder play The Poetry Club on 29th January.
