Jeff-buckley
AN
artist with an undying mysticism which sorrounds him, the late Jeff Buckley has long been revered as a truly soulful musician despite the little recorded material which he left in his dismayingly short time on this earth.

However, that’s all set to change with the forthcoming release of You And I, a collection of never before heard covers which were recorded whilst he prepared to begin work on his follow up to the seminal Grace.

With covers of Bob Dylan’s ‘Just Like A Woman’ and Sly and the Family Stone’s ‘Everyday People’ are already making their way to the ears of eager fans, a new video has surfaced to accompanying his previously unreleased cover of The Smith’s ‘I Know It’s Over’.

Taken from their classic The Queen Is Dead LP, Buckley’s re-imagining sees him take heed of Morrissey’s phrasing and render it in his own charismatic brogue. Stripping the track to its bare bones and placing nothing but emotive acoustic guitar and vocals at the forefront, it’s a testament to just how skilled a musician Buckley was that he could deftly make such compelling tracks his own.

Accompanied by a deeply emotional video which charts the relationship between a downtrodden young boy and his mother, check out the new version below:
