Milburn 2016IT’S been eight agonising years for their truly devoted fanbase but the next chapter of Milburn’s career is finally underway.

Reuniting to a great deal of fanfare and selling out shows across the UK, it’s evident that Milburn aren’t content to simply ride a wave of nostalgia and have summoned the creativity for a batch of new material.

Set to bring not only their anthemic classics but a whole host of new material to their headline slot at Tenement Trail in October, the next evolution of this Sheffield outfit  began with ‘Midnight Control’ and it’s got a brand new video.

Premiered on Steve Lamacq’s Radio 6 Music show earlier this month,  ‘Midnight Control’ sees the band’s sound transcend the raucous guitars of their earlier material into a more mature realm of rock ‘n’ roll which incorporates Nick Valensi-esque guitar interplay and daunting riffs together in a truly delectable fashion.  Proving that their propensity for huge choruses remains undiminished by absence, this Bill Ryder-Jones produced affair is a self-assured and confident first stride towards their new record.

Its accompanying video is a surrealist and entrancing affair. Set in the ballroom of a  grand hotel, the video sees a talented young woman dancing in the style associated with the legendary northern soul scene of previous decades whilst engulfed by swathes of dizzying effects.

‘Midnight Control’ will be released on the 16th September via VAM/Warners.

Milburn will headline our  own Tenement Trail on the 8th October with tickets available now via Ticketweb.
