misty miller best friendGARNERING acclaim and widespread recognition for her confrontational rock ‘n’ roll at a staggering rate, Misty Miller’s star seems to shine brighter with every new release. Fresh off the back of glowing reviews for her recent live endeavours that saw her undertake a brief headline jaunt around the UK, Miller continues her fine run of form with the hard-edged ‘Happy.’

Centering upon Miller’s astounding vocal delivery and the manner in which it compliments the track’s 70’s punk infused bassline and swaggering guitar licks, ‘Happy’ sees the singer/songwriter exorcising the demons of an unhealthy relationship and spitefully making her way towards salvation.

Proclaiming that ‘I’ve been sleeping with your friends, and you’ve been sleeping in your bed’, it contains aspects of the raw sentiment and energy that propelled acts such as Hole, Babes In Toyland and Sleater Kinney to greatness during the 90’s.

It’s accompanying visuals were directed by the renowned Sophie Muller; whose videography features collaborations with Weezer, Gwen Stefani and The Strokes. Featuring Miller playfully cavorting with her bandmates and letting go of her inhibitions, she displays the kind of gravitas that made Debbie Harry a cultural icon during Blondie’s heyday. ‘Happy’ will be available from the 7th June 2015 via Relentless, whilst those looking to catch her live can do so once a month at Brixton’s Windmill where she’s gained a residency running from July to September.
