MR Jukes and Barney Artist have teamed up for a new single called ‘Blowin Steam (Open Up Your Mind)’.
The track follows the duo’s first collab ‘From Golden Stars Comes Silver Dew’, from Mr Jukes’ debut solo album ‘God First’.
It also follows the same trajectory as that record with Mr Jukes – aka Bombay Bicycle Club frontman Jack Steadman – taking a back seat, offering up backing vocals and focusing mainly on the track’s funk and soul instrumentation.
Barney Artist definitely is the driver on the track, his flow a perfect match to Steadman’s joyful musicianship.
Mr Jukes said of the track “‘Blowin Steam’ happened so organically. Our first proper session together… the beat immediately connecting with Barney and the lyrics written within hours.”
