NEON Waltz make a comeback with their first release in three years accompanied by the anticipated announcement of upcoming album ‘Honey Now’ available 1st September.

‘Thoughts/ Dreams/ Regrets’ marks the long-awaited return for Scottish indie-rocker since their 2020 EP ‘Huna’. Gracing listeners with an introduction to the latest era of the band, the track details the change and vulnerability experienced during the conclusion of one chapter for them, and the beginning of another. With gliding keys, rugged bass lines and glorious psych-pop influences, it’s a euphoric and triumphant return.

Released through Fierce Panda Records, ‘Honey Now’ welcomes a changed lineup for the former six-piece with lyrical exploration of the reshaping. The band comment: “After the first album, the band changed from 6 members to 4 in a really short space of time, it felt like it was falling apart. In a way it literally was. Some of the lines are so directly about our band situation but almost all of them were written to be applied to any situation in life that can be made better by a simple reframing. This was the song that probably made us realise we had what we needed to do some of this record on our own. The drums were recorded in a tiny store room in the middle of our hometown on a lunch break from a day job.”

The music video features influence from the traditions and history of the band’s home county of Caithness, located in the far Northern corner of Scotland. Neon Waltz explain the creative process behind their latest video: “In Caithness we have a tradition called ‘a doing’, where a couple gets unexpectedly ambushed weeks or sometimes days before their wedding day, paraded around the county and pelted with all kinds of messy shit. I don’t know why… but it happens. It felt like a suitable first video idea for the Neon Waltz ‘Honey Now’ era, before it gets pelted and called all sorts of messy shit.”

Dates for an upcoming tour of the UK are to soon follow upon the release of new music, so keep an eye out.
