nieves broken oars

GLASGOW’S Nieves are quickly climbing up the ladder to certain success, and their latest release ‘Broken Oars’ is sure to catapult the four-piece to greater endeavours.

After selling out King Tut’s in their hometown at the end of 2015, ‘Broken Oars’ mixes delicate verses with an irresistible chorus that boasts emphatic vocals, chiming guitar lines and a subdued orchestra in the backdrop.

Nieves said the track was written: “In two halves … looking at a young girls’ relationship with her father who she idolises, and focuses on her husband 30 years later trying desperately to keep his family together.” The song also explores relationships, mental health and struggles facing the average family.
