EDINBURGH outfit rEDOLENT have kicked the year off with the release of ‘jUST tRYING tO rELAX’.
Released under the Scottish label, Post Electric, the single serves as a poignant exploration of anxiety, miscommunication, and remorse. They say “‘jUST tRYING tO rELAX’ delves into the cycle of losing control to anxiety, uttering unintended words to loved ones, and the subsequent instant regret and apology, with the increasing absurdity as the pattern repeats.”
Set against bobbling, weaving beats and deep synths, they channel their anxious energy through the track’s kinetic instrumental – always moving, never still – striking a balance between joyous escapism and hard reality. And their lyrical prowess is given a chance to shine on this occasion, as they weave a compelling tale of the human experience.
