RIANNE Downey shares new dancefloor-ready pop track ‘Dancing in the Rain’ as part of her upcoming EP ‘Method To My Madness’ released Friday 9th June via Run On Records.

Cementing her status as a self-assured force to be reckoned with, the latest release from the pop singer/ songwriter explores the notion of finding hope within lost love, aswell as dancing through tough times. ‘Method To My Madness’ forms the third extended play of Downey’s discography, including ‘Songbird’ released in March.

Downey explains her inspiration behind the confessional track: ‘Dancing In The Rain encapsulates that brief moment between a relationship ending and something new beginning and the conflicting baggage that comes with it: guilt, heartbreak, hope, emancipation. Musically, think of a festival in British summertime: grey clouds are circling above, but the sun begins to emerge. It’s the last-chance dance, snatching joy in the face of adversity.”

With recent performances at Brighton’s The Great Escape festival and Sound City in Liverpool, 2023 is only just beginning for the country pop talent. Upcoming live dates for Rianne Downey include Leftfield Stage at Glastonbury, Kendal Calling, Belladrum Festival, Cosmic Cape Festival swell as several Scottish dates in September. Headline shows at Mash House in Edinburgh, Aberdeen’s Tunnels and Church in Dundee conclude an excellent summer of shows.

With previous support slot accolades featuring appearances alongside Liam Fray of The Courteeners, The Snuts and The Lathums, the future is sure to behold something special for Dianne Downey.
