FOLLOWING the release of their acclaimed second album ‘Weird Country’, Savage Mansion are back with a new single called ‘Prizes’.

Known for their eloquent and melodic approach to guitar-rock, the band’s hurtling new single features twanging guitar lines, skiffle drum beats and close harmonies from new band member Beth Chalmers. Bringing a nice country twang to their rich catalogue, the band’s frontman and chief songwriter describes it as “a bridge between Weird Country and what we’re doing going ahead”.

He continues‘Prizes’ is a song about expectations, memory, and really trying to move past all of that in the pursuit of happiness”

The track is available on digital services now and available as a postcard single as part of Lost Map’s PostMap Club subscription service in March.

It will soon be joined by an accompanying new track called ‘Wig Wise’, another loose, loud alt-rock number. Angus says “These songs were both written for our third album but we’ve made the decision to put them out now as the next record sounds much different.”
