SOAPBOX emphasise intense displeasure with Scottish transport with belligerent new single ‘Private Public Transport’, released through Glasgow label Bold Cut.

Known for their relatable social commentary lyricism and riotous live shows, the punk-quartet are rapidly developing a chaotic reputation that sets them apart within the Scottish music scene.

Lyrically emphasising frustration with bus and railway services in Scotland, singer Tom Rowan explains, ‘I wrote it while riding a nextbike in the pishing rain cos the 2 bus hadn’t showed up’.

Displaying influence from the likes of Soft Play and Viagra Boys, Soapbox evolve their initial sounds showcased in debut singles ‘Value Added Glasgow’ and ‘Mad Jungle Beat’, into the full blown energy presented within their third track released in early January.

Concluding 2023 supporting fellow Scottish stars Dead Pony at sold out shows in Tooth & Claw in Inverness, Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s and the iconic St Luke’s in Glasgow, Soapbox impressed many in their breakout year. With three sold-out headline shows at Glaswegian venues including the Hug & Pint, King Tut’s Summer Night’s Festival and their recent Garage Attic gig, 2024 inevitably entails even more controlled chaos and formidable shows from Soapbox.
