SUMMER MOON, the new band fronted by The Strokes’ Nikolai Fraiture, have shared a new track called ‘Happenin’. It’s the latest to emerge from their forthcoming debut album With You Tonight, due for release on 24th February.

Driven by a fiercely tight rhythm section, the track possesses a relentless groove; Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins bouncing off propulsive bass lines from start to finish. And with Fraiture’s vocals loaded with distortion, he rather ironically recalls Julian Casablancas in his delivery; the track oozing an effortless cool that can only come from years of playing with the Strokes.

Speaking about the song, Nikolai says ‘When we play live we always start with this song, so it made sense that it was the opening track on the album. Drum and bass are locked in under a chaotic, thumping arpeggiated key part. It’s a good entry point in to the other songs. Sonically, it’s a gateway drug to the rest of the album”
