TALLESTMAN
SWEDISH
folk  export The Tallest Man On Earth has shared a great new track called ‘Rivers’. It is the second new song to be revealed this year from the artist  who released the album Dark Bird is Home  back in 2015.

Very much in keeping with his signature minimalist style, the track is led by intricate guitar-picking and delicate vocals, as Matsson harnesses his immense power for sentiment once again to great effect. Much like on the previous album, the track displays a fuller sound than his earlier lo-fi recordings; the ballad benefits from subtle inputs from piano and horn, giving it a more spacious feel as opposed to the twangy folk pickathons of before.

The intimate lyrical imagery is still there though, along with those distinctively raw vocals, as he is able to add instrumentation without losing any of his warmth and unique artistry. The accompanying video sees the artist perform an intimate stripped back version of the song. With no word of another album on its way, this beautiful ballad will keep fans happy for now as he gets ready to go on a world tour for the remaining months of the year.
