MADRID’S popular garage rockers The Parrots have revealed a new track called ‘No me gustas, te quiero’ which will feature on their highly anticipated debut album Los Ninos Sin Miedo set for release on the 26th August.

While the song’s title translates in English to ‘I don’t like you, I love you’, listeners should not expect a typical romantic melody. Instead, it encapsulates the infectious energy and affable, cheeky charm that we have come to love about the three-piece; you can’t help but grin at the hoarse cries of ‘I don’t remember too much if I did something that you didn’t like, sorry darling’. With its scuzzy strumming guitar and teasing lead guitar riff, the track’s appeal lies in its fuzz-drenched, slow-burning quality, as opposed to the immediacy of previous offerings, with everything built around the chanting chorus line of ‘No me gustas, te quiero’; impossible not to shout along to after a few listens.

Much like their compatriots and sisters-in-tuneage Hinds, The Parrots are able to capture their ramshackle garage rock and fun personalities in this track to great effect, as they look set to capitalise on their growing popularity in the UK with a tour, including an appearance at Broadcast in Glasgow on September 4th, along with the release of their debut album. ‘Los Ninos Sin Miedo’ will be released on 26th August via Heavenly Recordings.
