AFTER receiving widespread acclaim for their sumptuously crafted debut album Light Upon The Lake, soft-rock revivalists Whitney have announced that they will be releasing a demo compilation which will feature the entire record in its earliest form along with some unheard material.
The first to arrive before the album’s release is the glistening ‘You and Me’; a track which takes the duo back to their roots with some breezy lead vocals, delicate melodies and warm soul-jazz guitar licks. Staying true to their late 70s aesthetic, the upcoming release is set to showcase Whitney’s sound in its earliest form. And after a period of nonstop touring and international acclaim, Light Upon The Lake: Demo Recordings will not only give their fanbase a refreshing insight into one of 2016’s best records, it will also bookend a remarkably fruitful and creatively inspired period for the group.
