AS we draw ever closer to the release date of the eagerly anticipated Masseducation, the incomparable St Vincent has unveiled a striking new video to accompany one of its featured tracks ‘Los Ageless’.
Directed by frequent collaborator Willo Perron, the stylised clip is a strange and dystopian take on excessive beauty regimes and age-defying techniques such as plastic surgery and morphsuit yoga. From sitting motionless under a hooded hair dryer to standing in a pot of glu to having the skin stretched from her face, the nightmare-fuelled visual matches the feel of the track; a thumping piece of electro-rock which comes armed with a chorus that is as addictive as it is strangely claustrophobic.
Once again demonstrating her ability to blur the boundaries of genre, ‘Los Ageless’ is an exciting insight into what’s to come from the album with its fuzzy guitars, warped synths and electro-stomp. Masseducation arrives on 13th October and will feature the previously released ‘New York’.
