UNWAVERING in their commitment to a no-nonsense and thoroughly explosive sound, GANGS have made their presence felt on Scotland’s musical map over the course of this year. Nominated in the best rock/alternative category at this year’s Scottish Alternative Music Awards after a dizzyingly busy year for the newcomers, the band have returned with the video for their latest single ‘Dance With Your Own Bones’ and it’s a thrilling affair.
Savage riffs, lyrics steeped in decadent imagery and a sense of volatility that shares ground with Josh Homme’s most hellacious, desert-bred guitar playing,’Dance With Your Own Bones’ continue to mark them as an intriguing entity as they strive toward the perfect balance between heavy riffs and catchiness. Overflowing with hooks among the melee, it joins previous outings ‘Knock The Door’ and ‘Thieves’ as evidence of their ability to succeed in delivering the type of brash rock ‘n’ roll which demands an almost involuntary and intrinsically built-in response from the listener.
Its new video mimics the breakneck soundtrack with its action narrated by frontman Steven Young shrouded in darkness as chaotic scenes play out on the streets.
‘Dance With Your Own Bones’ will be released on the 18th November via Smooth Action Records.
