kathryn josephUNDOUBTEDLY the biggest year of her career thus far and one that has brought her much greater levels of acclaim, Kathryn Joseph has taken her rightful place as the modern industry’s most revered songstresses.

Having to repress her record onto vinyl in order to meet the demands, the move has coincided with the release of ‘The Bird’ and previously unaired ‘The Worm’ as a double A-side single via Hit The Fan records.

One of the boldest and most imposing tracks on the record as well as an invigorating opening gambit, The Bird has now received an equally ethereal video to befit such a sumptuous composition. Indicative of what one could expect from her thrilling debut Bones You Have Thrown Me And Blood I Have Spilled, the sense of poignancy and vitality that is established from the very first note and continues throughout remains undiminished despite numerous listens. Spurred on by each meticulously crafted utterance from Joseph, ‘The Bird’  is cinematic in scope and hypnotic in nature.

Collaborating with new venture Scottish Ballet Creative to create a visual accompaniment to the track, it features the renowned dancer Sophie Laplane performing a work entirely of her own creation that compliments the emotions of the music in every conceivable fashion.

‘The Bird/The Worm double A side is available now via Hits The Fan
