GLASGOW’S
own United Fruit will unleash their new album Eternal Return on 13th May 2016 and have reemerged in emphatic fashion with new song ‘Where The Sun Beats Down’; an atmospheric burst that bodes well for their impending release.

The band have spoken of their intention for the next album to be more direct and they succeed as expected in meshing heavy-riff instrumentals with pop vocals. This latest number is a particularly high-energy blend of pacy rock grooves, layered melodies and reflective lyrics.

If ‘Where The Sun Beats Down’ is anything to go by, the band can take their rightful place alongside some of Glasgow’s best and brightest alternative acts. It’s loud, to such a point where you’re not quite sure if the studio is really doing it justice. Its anthemic chorus and layered riffs chime more with the sound of a summer festival than a sweat-drenched dance floor. On this evidence, they may not have long to wait to embark on the former’s territory.

The four-piece will play a series of shows across Scotland, including Sneaky Pete’s and Tolbooth next month to mark the release of Eternal Return.
